Our deepest
sympathies go out to those who have lost their lives, their
family or their friends in the horrific attacks against
the United States. You'll be in our hearts and minds
forever.
God Bless the U.S.A.

PAL Sports &

"Cops for Kids"
The Scotch
Plains Police Athletic League (PAL) was founded in 1991 as a
volunteer organization. PAL aims to develop a friendly
relationship between the youngster and the police officer and
develop a spirit of cooperation for respect of the
law.
Our Mission
We are committed
to ensuring that our organization is operated with the emphasis
on skill development, personal growth, and enjoyment. We
encourage academic excellence, respect for others, discipline,
teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Our Goal is to provide the
largest number of pre-high school aged youth with a positive
experience in the game of football.
What we do
The activities offered are
physical, cultural and social. There is an emphasis
placed upon developing good
physical fitness for all
football and cheerleading activities. The full contact
squads are traveling teams and the
players and cheerleaders are
expected to provide their own transportation to and from all
games and official
events. All of the coaches
and assistants are volunteers (must complete the Rutgers sports
safety program).
There are fund raising
activities each year to help abate the costs of equipment, field
maintenance, and
administrative costs in support
of the program.
How it works
There are three programs
available; Flag Football, Full Contact Football, and
Cheerleading. The Flag program is
open to boys and girls through
the 4th Grade level. The Full Contact program is open to
boys and girls through
the 8th Grade level and has five
groups based upon age and weight limits. The Cheerleading
program currently
has three squads and starts at
the 5th Grade level.
The Full Contact program follows
the rules and regulations of the NJ Suburban Youth Football
League. The most
significant rules affect the
eligibility of the players and provide a more flexible program
for allowing boys of
similar age to play and compete
together. In addition to the basic age breakdown for each
group, a weight limit is
set for backfield players and
ends (all primary ball handlers) in order to protect other
players from collisions
caused by faster and larger
players of the same basic age group. For additional
detailed information about the
programs, please follow the
links to the left to locate your specific area of interest.
If you require further
information about the programs

The generous support of all those
who have made our PAL program successful is gratefully
appreciated.
Those who assisted through financial contributions and those who
have donated their time and skills
are equally responsible for the continuance of this very
worthwhile enterprise.
